eDPI Calculator
Calculate your Effective Dots Per Inch (eDPI) by combining your hardware DPI and in-game sensitivity.
What is eDPI?
eDPI (Effective Dots Per Inch) represents your true aiming sensitivity by multiplying your physical mouse hardware DPI by your software in-game sensitivity setting. Because different players use varying hardware DPI configurations (such as 400, 800, or 1600 DPI), raw in-game sensitivity numbers cannot be directly compared between setups without calculating eDPI.
The eDPI Calculation Formula
For example, if your mouse sensor is configured to 800 DPI and your in-game sensitivity slider is set to 1.5, your calculated eDPI is 800 × 1.5 = 1200 eDPI. A player using 400 DPI with a sensitivity of 3.0 will also have an eDPI of 1200, resulting in identical cursor movement across the screen.
Why eDPI Differs Across Games
It is important to note that eDPI values are game-specific. A sensitivity value of 1.0 in CS2 or Valorant yields different physical angular rotation than 1.0 in Apex Legends, Overwatch, or Minecraft. To compare aiming settings across different games, use our Gaming Sensitivity Converter.
